Married at Fryeburg Nov 21, 1914 Buried in Cemetery No. 4. Some information taken from Hutchins genealogy file. Sumner Kimball wrote the following piece about him: "I will here give a short sketch of the life of our William H. Hutchins as near as my memory of him - from infancey to manhood - tis as follows. William H. Hutchins born May 28, 1864. He died March 13, 1922 - ae 57 yr. 9ms. 16ds. Married Dec. 8, 1914 in Fryeburg, Me. Mrs. Minnie Hume b. 1861, d. May 3, 1917. Both died in No. 4, Lovell, Me. She dying in their home recently built and he died after a short illness of Pneumonia at the home of his nearest neighbor Mr. Harry Ring & family who kindly took him in and cared for his through his last sickness. His wife had resided in Bellows Falls, Vt. previous to her marriage to Mr. Hutchins. Their married life always seemed to be a pleasant and agreeable one - each trying to make their married life a success. Mr. Hutchins was the son of Whicher and Sarah Cobb (Gould) Hutchins who lived on the east side of Christian Hill - one half mile from the main road leading from No. 4 to Lovell Village - about equal distances from each of these named places. His mother died soon after he was born June 6, 1864 and his father died March 19, 1866 leaving him without parents at scarcely two years of age. About this time a man named Andrew Wentworth from N.H. purchased the home place and moved here with his family and for a time William was cared for in this family - and a few years later was taken into the family of Mr. John Walker a near neighbor where he remained till past his boyhood days. During this time he proved a faithful servant - his calls were many and varied - his schooling being somewhat neglected - partly by his own indifference and neglect." |
