Rudy Vallee's boat "Banjo Eyes" with Rudy Vallee standing at the prow. The photo was used in the publication "The Lovell News" with the following caption: "Rudy Vallee was a global sensation in the 1930’s—he was the first to adopt the singing style known as "crooning" and he was the first entertainment megastar. In 1930 he visited his good friend Don Dickerman at his camp on Kezar Lake and fell in love with the place. He bought land adjacent to Dickerman’s on the western shore and built a seven-building compound, referred to as the "Lodge". He spent his summer weekends there until 1945, when he sold the property. During this time period, Lovell was treated to a parade of celebrities visiting the Lodge and Banjo Eyes, his 30-foot Chris Craft cabin cruiser (pictured above) was a familiar sight plying the waters of Kezar."
